At reFocus Real Estate School, we pride ourselves on setting expectations so our students and instructors have the best experience possible.
Attendance
All reFocus Real Estate School courses will begin promptly at the published time. Students are not allowed to spend an excessive amount of time outside of the classroom once the course is in session. If so, the student may be denied completion or credit for the course.
Late Arrival: Courses are completed in one or over multiple sessions. reFocus Real Estate School recommends that students plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Students who come late for the course will be required to complete the entire session on a future date when it is available. (If possible, students may be able to make up missed sessions through additional self-study – depending on regulatory requirements and course availability.)
Early Departure: Courses are completed in one or over multiple sessions. Students who leave early will be required to complete the entire session on a future date when it is available. Cancellation / Refund
School Cancellation: reFocus Real Estate School reserves the right to cancel a course for any reason, including failure to meet minimum* registration requirements. If canceled, all registered students will receive a notification and may request transfer to another, similar class or request a full refund**.
reFocus Real Estate School assumes no liability for any penalty fees (e.g., airline tickets, hotel deposits, incidental costs) that a registrant might incur as a consequence of a course cancellation.
*Each instructor-led course on the schedule is subject to a minimum enrollment of 5 students or the class will be canceled.
**Refunds are processed within 7-10 days of the agreed request.
Student Cancellation: Students may cancel course registration provided reFocus Real Estate School receives written or electronic notice by close of business, five (5) business days* before the start of the course. Registration fees are forfeited if the written cancellation is not received at least 5 business days* before the course date. Refunds** apply to the registration fee only; not shipping and materials already received at the course location.

Course Decorum
All students must be respectful of the Instructor and other students. reFocus Real Estate School, in conjunction with the Instructor, retain the right to dismiss a student from a course for disruptive behavior of any kind. All personal or business electronic devices (phones, laptops, etc.) are required to be in silent mode. Students dismissed from a course forfeit their right to a refund. Students are highly recommended to wear business casual while attending a class.
Course Exam
Pre-License: Principles and Practices of Real Estate and Broker Courses
- Once a student completes the course, they are required to pass a school exam before registering for the national and state exam.
- According to the Virginia Real Estate Board, students must obtain a minimum score of 75 to pass the school exam.
- The school exam is required to be proctored by a non-relative.
- The school exam is accessible until passed for up to 6 months from date they enrolled.
Post-License and Continuing Education Courses
- Once a student has completed the course content in the online course, they are required to pass the Final Course Exam.
- According to the Virginia Real Estate Board, students must obtain a minimum score of 75 to pass.
- The school exam is accessible until passed for up to 6 months from the date they enrolled.
- If the student does not complete the course within 6 months, they will lose your progress and will need to re-enroll.
Electric Devices
All personal or business electronic devices (phones, laptops, etc.) are required to be in silent mode. Making or receiving phone calls, sending emails, or text messages are not allowed unless you have an emergency – in which please alert your Instructor.
Taking course-related notes on your laptop, tablet, and other portable devices are permitted while the course is in session. Recording or photographic devices are not allowed while a class is in session.
Evaluation
Students will receive an evaluation survey at the end of their course. reFocus Real Estate School values your feedback as we strive to improve our course offerings. By completing the brief survey, it will help us evaluate and enhance the quality of our courses.
Inclement Weather
In the event of a course time change or cancellation due to inclement weather, students will receive a notification. In the case of a course delay, reFocus Real Estate School requests you leave enough travel time for traffic and inclement weather conditions.
Marketing
By attending a course offered by reFocus Real Estate School, you agree to allow the company to use any video or photo taken of you in our marketing materials. If you do not wish to enable reFocus Real Estate School to publish you in our marketing material, please contact us.
