About Continuing Education
Virginia Salesperson Continuing Education; Section 54.1-2105.03 of the Code of Virginia requires all brokers and salespersons (who have renewed their license at least once before) to complete Board-approved Continuing Education to renew or activate their licenses.
Experienced Salespersons must complete 16 hours of Continuing Education to renew their licenses. Of these 16 hours, renewing experienced salespersons must take the classes offered. The remaining 8 hours for both brokers and experienced salespersons may be in Real Estate Related Subjects (electives or in the required Continuing Education subjects already referenced. The Continuing Education requirements also apply to inactive brokers and experienced salespersons who apply to activate their licenses.

Continuing Education: Current Industry Issues and Trends
FREE 2 HoursThis course will update licensees on current issues and trends impacting their clients to help them better serve clients concerned about the current tax law, fair housing protections and rights for the protected classes of disability and sex, and provides resources for low- and moderate-income households to find and finance affordable housing.

Continuing Education: Legal Updates
FREE 1 HoursThe practice of real estate in Virginia has seen a turbulent and exciting time in the last few years. Markets have adjusted, sales volumes have fallen and risen, and several legislative items have passed in the state. This course will cover some of the more important legal updates and emerging trends, followed by some recent disciplinary actions imposed by the Virginia Real Estate Board.
